FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

YOU ASKED, WE ANSWERED...

Hopefully the “steel” part of our name is obvious.  We use only the best food grade 18/8 304 stainless steel in all of our products.

The “waterlily” portion of our name was chosen for what this eye-catching, aquatic flower represents.  Quite simply, the waterlily is an optimistic symbol of delight and happiness.  It is often used to represent all things good and beautiful, peace, enlightenment, and good fortune.  It’s hard not to associate all these amazing things with the Waterlily Steel brand.

We have curated six stunning matte colors for our insulated coffee mugs and applied thoughtful meanings to these colors. Our goal is to help you recognize what color can do for you in your daily routine, and make your day a little bit more fulfilling, with something as simple as an insulated travel coffee mug.

Our color inspiration:

We are in scenic Vancouver, Canada, where a fee was just imposed for single-use cups as of Jan 1, 2022. A great step forward for our environment!

Waterlily Steel is doing its part by providing reusable insulated cups and by sharing a portion of proceeds with the Rainforest Trust, an organization that we think is doing a lot to help our children’s futures, which is really important to us.

Yes, our 20 oz tumblers were designed to fit most standard cup holders.  Not too big, not too small so they won’t wobble and tip when you go over a bump 🙂

Our cups hold 20 oz of liquid or 591 ml.  Specifically, 3.54″ across the top, 2.76″ across the bottom, and 6.96″ tall.

The safest type of reusable tumbler to drink from is a high-quality stainless tumbler, like Waterlily Steel tumblers. They are better than plastic or aluminium.  18/8 304 stainless steel is a non-toxic material that doesn’t need a liner, and it doesn’t leach chemicals, even if the cup becomes damaged or if you fill it with boiling liquids like tea and coffee. Also, because stainless steel can be washed at high temperatures, there is less risk of water contamination from bacteria. Washing your tumbler regularly with soap and hot water will kill bacteria easily and efficiently.

Yes, absolutely! Our thermal tumblers are made from superior food grade rust-resistant 18/8 stainless steel and the slider lids and cups are BPA free. If you notice a manufacturer defect, please contact us and we will make it right, ASAP! Issues are extremely uncommon but can arise.

We designed our packaging to be uniquely simple and beautiful.  A picture is worth a thousand words, so here you go:

No, the lids on our Waterlily Steel tumblers are designed to be splash-proof, but not leak-proof. This means, if you set it down too fast, or go over a bump in the car, if the lid is closed it will not splash out of the cup. However, we don’t recommend that you you throw this tumbler in your bag and head on out for the day!  Please sign up for our mailing list (at the bottom of this page) though and we will let you know if we end up adding new lids or other exciting features or products!

Currently, all of our products ship from Amazon warehouses spread across the USA for quick delivery.  This allows us to give you fast free PRIME shipping for those with Amazon.com memberships.  We also ship to Canada!

While our thermal cups are technically dishwasher safe, for the best long-lasting results, please hand wash in warm soapy water and air dry. Extremely hot water temperatures and the vigorous nature of dishwashers can deteriorate the powder-coated finish over time. Lids can be taken apart and hand washed, and they are also top-rack dishwasher safe. Please avoid cleaners with bleach or chlorine and please do not use them on a stove, in a microwave, or freezer. It’s also best to use non-abrasive cleaning tools to keep your new tumbler in great condition for years to come.
